“Ah, yeah, exactly. But I think that incident also got me a lot more interested in farming. There are lots of other things I want to do, too. And I do my best in school - my parents used to go here.” She nodded. “Um, hey, you don’t need to feel bad you didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Well, as long as you have something to feel passionate about, that’s fine right?” Cliff said, casting a small smile as he continued to eat his sandwich. “That’s nice… I’m the first one to go to school in my family, I think.”

Cliff stayed silent for a while. “Wow…. I’m sorry…”
“Huh? Oh - no, it’s okay it’s fine - you don’t have to-!” She sat up straight. “Uh… well… I mean… my dad’s friend mentors me…”
“If you say so…:” Cliff made a small smile before nodding. “At least that, you have your whole family, right?”
She looked down at her tray. “No… Well, it was pretty bad. … The entire farm had been destroyed and the house and the stable fell apart, too. My parents were carried away by high winds. And my brother lives in the city now…” She trailed off.
Cliff remained silent, thinking of the question he had made. What a jerk he was! Blushing and looking down and glupped. “I-I-I’m very s-sorry… to hear that… I know how you feel.”
Jill stared at him. “Huh? N-no, it’s not like… I mean…You don’t… have to…” she sighed. “It… You shouldn’t let it get you down. I mean… it’s not like I don’t get sad about it but it’s just like… y’know…?” She leaned her cheek into her hand
because I have no other idea how to describe that. “But, I don’t think they would want me to be depressed about it forever. I should worry about other things, right?”
Cliff became flusttered, blushing more and not taking his eyes off his tray. Man, he was making himself an idiot without even trying! “I-I get it! You have school to focus on, right? I mean…. you can get sad everyonce in a while, it’s only human, right? But you always have a new point in life now…”
Cliff stayed silent for a while. “Wow…. I’m sorry…”

Jill blinked. “Huh? O-oh, yeah!” She smiled, a bit flustered, and blushed. She picked up her food that she ordered. “Animals are great company…” she giggled. “i used to live out in this place in the country, uh-huh.”
Cliff got a seat for them both and started to eat calmly. “Oh, so you had like a farm?” he asked out of curiosity.
Jill sat down, nodding. “Yeah, it was great. But, well, everything got destroyed in this huge typhoon, so I’m here…”
Cliff stayed silent for a while. “Wow…. I’m sorry…”
Okay. This guy didn’t even do a thing. She felt really horrible now, just because he didn’t seem like he wanted revenge. Sighing, she headed down the stairs to apologize and bumped into someone. It was the same guy from before..! “…Ah!”

Feeling incredibly wet, Cliff headed to the locker rooms but it wasn’t long enough before he bumped into somebody. “Ungh…. I-I’m sorry….” he felt his head spinning, the day wasn’t starting as good as it should be.

Luckily, Cliff’s cameras were inside his backpack but most of his books were hit by the water ballon. He stood still for a moment, trying to assimilate what the hell just happened. He glanced up to see what happened but saw nobody. Great, now he was probably being bullied by somebody.
Seeing Orland so flusttered made Cliff tilt his head. “If you are not comfortable with it, you don’t need to accept it! I can find some other male model for my photography work!” he said with a smile, trying to calm down the other male.
Orland:
“Umm….well…I’d prefer not to do it, but…thanks for asking.” I said, trying to hide the fear in my voice. I suddenly viewed Cliff as someone else, not a man but a monster ((ok, I know I’m an actual monster but I mean in a mental sense)). His once friendly smile seemed to twist into something distorted and terrifying, which chilled me to the bone.
Was this the same person I had met before?
Cliff sensed that something was wrong with Orland and frowned lightly. “Are you…. okay? I completely understand that you don’t want to model, it’s okay.” Orland was acting kinda weird. Was it something Cliff said? He had apologized right? “I’m sorry if I done anything to disturb you…”
Orland:
“No, everything’s okay!” I said a little too quickly, my face still a little pale. This guy was terrifying. “Umm…I should get going! I’ve…got friends to meet!”
Short responses FTW
Cliff was feeling horrible. He frowned lightly and started to walk away, leaving Orland alone. Was he that scary? Did he had the ability of scaring people away without even doing something? He must be ugly as well too!
